Very professional and polite.
Clean, professional staff, good care
I would strongly caution families before placing a loved one at Pacific Villas Post Acute. There appears to be a deeply troubling pattern at this facility involving vulnerable Medicare patients who are admitted for short-term rehab, allowed to exhaust their skilled Medicare days, and then, once a patient requires hospitalization or their coverage changes, families are suddenly told the facility “cannot take them back,” “does not accept Medicaid,” or “cannot accommodate long-term care.” This leaves elderly and medically fragile patients stranded in hospitals or scrambling for placement during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. Families should know: • California facilities like this are often required to evaluate readmission rights before simply refusing return. • Medicaid/Medi-Cal eligibility is frequently misrepresented to families who are unfamiliar with the system. • Patients are led to believe they have a stable care plan, only to find out they are being displaced once reimbursement changes. The issue is not one isolated discharge. It is the repeated acceptance of patients under one financial arrangement, followed by resistance once the patient becomes a longer-term responsibility. This kind of practice places profit over patient continuity of care. Please ask detailed questions before admitting your loved one here: * Will they accept Medi-Cal pending? * What is their exact readmission policy after hospitalization? * Are they willing to retain long-term custodial residents? * How many patients have been denied return after hospital transfer? Get every answer in writing. Too many families are finding out the hard way that the promises made at admission do not match the facility’s actions when a patient becomes financially inconvenient.
